This actually happened, today, a few minutes ago. I sat in front of a computer during the dialog in order to transcribe it.
I asked the aforementioned girl, “Why do you hate George Bush so much?”
The response was, “I don’t really have any reasons. You know, he’s actually kinda good for a President. You know what? The troops aren’t really fighting in Iraq, they’re just there to fight the terrorists. So technically, he’s not a bad guy. But some of his decisions I can’t really agree with.”
I replied, “Like what?”
Suddenly another student yelled out, “She’s just listening to her parents! Like, my parents say they love him.”
The first girl had no answer for me.
