Sayonara, Apple Remote

Most computers from Apple today come with an Apple Remote. The Apple Remote allows one to pause or play a track, skip track, adjust volume, and put the computer to sleep. In my computer-centric lifestyle, it’s a lifesaver. I, in fact, had two. I let one float around my bedroom, and the other was held by double-sided tape to a dresser next to my door. Keeping one there let me play or pause the song or podcast I was listening to the second I entered or left the room. Daily, it gave me more minutes of listening time. Nifty.

Did you notice the use of past tense? One of my two Apple Remotes met its untimely demise. I suppose they weren’t meant to make their way into the dryer. Who would have thought?

I’m ordering a replacement. It’s hard to believe that I’ve made a thirty dollar piece of plastic a cornerstone of my life.

A moment of silence for Rice’s Apple Remote…………. Well that was time wasted. Good thing he already ordered a new one, two questions concerning Apple’s shipping:
    1. How long will it take that one to be delivered?
    2. Is it in Danbury yet?

@Michael: My name is Ricky, not Rice.

Haven’t ordered it yet. “I’m ordering a replacement.”

I am ordering a replacement does not mean I have ordered a replacement. :P

This post is just chock full of verb tenses that need to be payed attention.

It’s interesting to see the effect that this has had on you. The remote is a convenience, not a necessity, yet you’ve already planned to replace it.

@Chris: Should I be paying attention to them, or everyone else?

Yeah, it’s definitely a first-world problem. It’s such a small thing, and such a stupid thing, but my lifestyle has been altered. That’s because I’m almost always listening to something while I’m either working on an assignment or surfing the web. It’s a testament to how well we have it, I suppose.

Us PC kids don’t have any fancy pants remotes, although they’re admittedly a good idea. Just another reason why Apple is taking over…

oh, how sad. i once i had one, but i realized it was too materialistic for me. just think, we could be feeding children with the money we spend on those things!
