Sayonara, MacBook Pro

My MacBook Pro is making a pilgrimage to Apple’s laptop technical support center in Texas for what is hopefully a SuperDrive replacement. In that time, however, I need a computer to use.

My answer is my G4 Cube. For the next week or so I’ll be living with a 450mhz, 640 megabyte (RAM) machine. This’ll be fun. I’ll be sure to give my thoughts on the experience.

I thought they were sending YOU a SuperDrive?

“As you can tell, it took three phone calls and two support agents before I was given what I want: a box sent to my house to send the computer to Apple and the promise of a new SuperDrive.”

I think I made it pretty clear. :P
Mike, you can’t replace your own laptop parts, other than RAM and possibly the hard disk.

Haha, great comment Ricky. Well, at least you got the box sent to your house to be sent to Apple.

I had an issue with something I ordered from Dell a while back and it took about six phone calls and eight support agents before… I cancelled my order.

Thanks Christine! Wow, that sounds like a horrible experience with Dell. I’ve had my fair share of trouble with Dell. Apple trumps them.

    Random thought:
    Laptop’s aren’t built… they’re grown.

Alright, I admit it, Apple does, in fact, trump Dell.

…And thank you for the random reflective thought on laptops. :)

Laptops are grown…and processors are poked…
