I visited my surgeon today. Essentially, he poked around in my ear and took out much of the packing in it. It hurt like hell, but I’m moving along. I’ll be seeing him again on April 1.
Day by day, I’m feeling better; day by day, I’ll get some hearing back.
Ooo, geez, I can imagine that hurting a lot, but at least your recovering little by little. Do you frequently experience pain, or is this something that was only evoked by your surgeon prodding around yesterday?
One time.
I had tympanoplasty surgery the exact same way you did 3 weeks ago. My hearing came back within a week but the gelfoam and goop is still in there. Thats what I’m worried about. I had it check today and he still can not see my eardrum. I had zero pain with the entire experience but I’m a little sketchy about him going in and removing it. Is it extremely painful????
Jenny, I responded to your question here: http://www.richardmondello.com/2009/12/28/nice-words-from-new-friends/
