Richard’s Tweets for 2008-03-29

  • I don’t think I say this enough. I love gmail. It really is an absolute pleasure to use and I can’t see myself using another service. #
  • @Prettyvacant99 It’s my job. ;) #
  • @ericskiff Not on my end. #
  • @gruber You really posted your last three tweets from three different twitter clients? That’s dedication to testing… or something. #
  • Something I haven’t done in far too long: Sitting with the laptop in bed listening to a new album. Friday nights are wonderful! #
  • @ericskiff If Google really went down, I’d start to panic. I’d be lost. #
  • It’s not April 1st. Come on Diggnation, don’t give me a heart attack! #
  • How did I not know that @snoopdogg is on twitter? Oh wait, it’s because I don’t care. But get Coolio on twitter and I’ll be elated. #
  • Just put all of the social networks I’m on into a text document. I’m up to fifteen. #
  • Facebook’s "People You May Know" feature, I’d assume, has skyrocketed friend requests site-wide in the last week. It has for me. #
  • Google Reader needs a better interface for managing tags. Add that and it’s almost perfect. #
  • @JasonCalacanis @mahalodaily @Veronica I’m enjoying Mahalo Daily, but it’d be really wonderful in HD. #
  • Having a complete geek night. Clearing the starred items on Google Reader, updating software, testing wordpress plugins. It’s the good life. #
  • Just started using FeedBurner on my site. Why didn’t I do this earlier? It’s quite amazing, and I don’t even have data yet. #
  • I’m not sure if WordPress is automatically 301 redirecting my normal feeds. Ekk. I should have researched this first, eh? #
  • 25% of my site hits have been referred from a New York Times blog post about @cspenn’s The Web 2.0 Résumé. Good post to leave a comment on. #
  • @cory_grimes I went for surgery less than a month ago, so I shall twitter-commiserate with your predicament. #
  • @Pistachio It depends. What software are you using, what format are you ripping to, and how fast is your computer? #
  • @cory_grimes I have to do that soon - tooth pain pretty often, but I’m still healing from recent ear surgery. Waiting stinks. Feel better! #
  • Forgot that Leopard’s menu bar is translucent by default. I’ve had mine opaque for so long. What’s yours set on? #
  • It’s 2am. I should call it quits and go to sleep, but I think I’m going to listen to @grammargirl and have some ice cream instead. Sad? Yes. #
  • @cory_grimes What podcasts do you listen to? A gig of podcasts? Heesh, depending on encoding, that could take a really long time. #
  • @cory_grimes We both listen to Diggnation, Mahalo Daily, and TWiT. Have a nice day. #
  • Playing Sonic 3 & Knuckles (best game ever) on my hacked iPod touch. Unusable, but totally awesome. #
  • I beat the first special stage! That was *very* difficult. #
  • I can only imagine how much emulating a sega genesis on my iPod is killing its battery. #
  • Uninstalled the iPod touch Genesis emulator. It just isn’t the same without perfect sound and tactile controls. #
  • The Google Logo is so badass on a black background. Well, as badass as a company logo can get. Right? Right? #
  • Twitter Karma not working across the board? #
  • Killer feature for last.fm would be if the client would correctly tag your music when it thinks it’s incorrect. That’d be awesome. #
  • @kubecraig I loved Juno, but that’s just me. My (short) review: http://tinyurl.com/39w7jp #
  • @geoffmanning Vmware converter is so handy for keeping an old system around. It’s saved me (time) a few times. Good luck. #
  • @geoffmanning There’s nothing better than a "weekend project". It’s been a long time since I’ve had one… *looks around*. #
  • @geoffmanning Seriously, me too. I loved Juno to death. #
  • Woke up hearing Ira Glass teach Sarah Vowell to drive. Fell asleep to my This American Life playlist. That’s my American Life, right there. #
  • Let’s update WordPress, shall we? Oh, and Release Candidate 4 of my theme, http://getk2.com, is out? Busy evening coming up. #
  • http://richardmondello.com/ upgraded to WordPress 2.5 in 8 minutes flat. Next up, theme updating. #
  • Oh crap, fatal error, "Call to undefined function: register_sidebar()". I’ll get working on that. #
  • False alarm. Just had to navigate to Design > Theme and reactive my theme after quickly reverting to WordPress Default. #
  • Alright, automatic plugin updating is so wonderful. New interface will take some getting used to, but it’s nice. #
  • Hey, major theme incompatibilities with WordPress 2.5, nice to meet you. If you’re using k2, watch out! #
  • The major problem, I think, stems from k2’s custom sidebar manager. Disabling and enabling it alters the error slightly, but doesn’t solve. #
  • Confirmed: k2 RC4’s sidebar manager kills the WordPress 2.5 dashboard. I’m looking for a solution. #
  • @cspenn Why are you working on WordPress upgrades for company properties at night? Getting overtime? If not, wait until Monday morning. #
  • Until there’s a fix I have to choose between: 1. WordPress Dashboard. 2. k2 Custom Sidebar Modules … One or the other, not both. #
